The S12700 is Huawei's high-performance core switch: a more advanced hardware architecture with higher switching capacity, full redundancy (power, fan and main control boards) and richer built-in security features (firewall, intrusion detection, user authentication, access control and encryption). The S9700 suits campus cores where top-end S12700 capacity is not required.
