What is the difference between Huawei S12700 and S9700 series switches?

The S12700 is Huawei's high-performance core switch: it uses a more advanced hardware architecture with higher switching capacity, full redundancy (power, fan and main control boards) and richer built-in security features (firewall, intrusion detection, user authentication, access control and encryption). The S9700 is positioned for campus cores where the top-end S12700 capacity is not required.
